About Maniwa City
Maniwa City was established in 2005 through the merger of five towns and four villages in Okayama Prefecture. It is the largest municipality in Okayama Prefecture. The northern part of the city is part of Daisen-Iki National Park, surrounded by mountains such as Hiruzen and Tsukuroyama. The southern part of the city lies within the Tsukuro Plateau, where visitors can enjoy beautiful nature. Agriculture is thriving in this region, and dairy farming is also practiced. Local specialties include clam crafts, Gohara lacquerware, green soybean tofu, and folk spinning tops. The Hiruzen Plateau is known as a popular tourist destination. Here, visitors can enjoy horseback riding, cycling, and barbecues, making it one of the leading resort areas in western Japan. Other tourist attractions include Yubara Onsen, Fudo Falls, and Kanba Falls.
