Located in the center of Okayama Prefecture, Kumenan Town in Kume District is 40km from Okayama City. Well-known as a town of senryu (Japanese haiku), it has a deep connection to the monk Honen Shonin and is characterized by its rich culture and natural environment. The town's main industry is agriculture, centered on rice farming, but it also focuses on growing vegetables such as tobacco leaves and shiitake mushrooms.
