Shoo Town in Katsuta District is adjacent to two cities and two towns in Okayama Prefecture and is blessed with abundant nature. Black soybean cultivation is thriving within the town, with the town boasting one of the largest cultivated areas in the country. Other crops grown include pears, peaches, grapes, and other fruit trees, as well as rice, tea, asparagus, shiitake mushrooms, and taro. Local specialties include black bean rice, Shimizu white peaches, and chestnuts. Okayama Farmers Market North Village, a new tourist spot in the town, recently opened. This expansive park features a zoo, athletic facilities, a strawberry-picking experience center, a specialty product shop, and accommodation options. The town also hosts the annual Kintoki Festival, featuring a parade and other exciting events.
