Kita Ward, Niigata City, is located in the northernmost part of Niigata City, and is home to rural landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see. In spring, rape blossoms bloom in Fukushimagata, and in summer, water lilies can be seen. It's a lush, green city surrounded by abundant nature, including pine forests and acacia trees along the coast, and the giant zelkova tree in Takamori. In winter, the Japanese bush warbler, a national natural monument, flies in from Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula and spends the winter in Fukushimagata. Many migratory birds can be observed in Fukushimagata during the winter, making it a popular spot for bird lovers. Tomatoes, eggplants, watermelons, and other vegetables and fruits are local specialties, and the idol group "VegiKiss," which supports Kita Ward's agricultural products, is also an active performer.
