Akiha Ward, Niigata City, is located slightly north of Niigata Prefecture. Based on the concept of "a comfortable and lively town surrounded by flowers and greenery," the town is being developed by taking advantage of the rich natural environment surrounded by farmland and hills. As befits a town of flowers, the town is adorned with azaleas, Japanese quince, azaleas, and winter plum blossoms. Along National Route 403, there is a "Flower Road" where you can enjoy seasonal flowers such as rape blossoms, sunflowers, and cosmos. With festivals and events held throughout the year, Akiha Ward is also a popular tourist destination. Famous as the "Oil Village," Akiha Ward also boasts numerous oil-related tourist spots, including Sekiyu no Sato Park and the Oil Cultural Heritage Facility.
