Rice is the primary agricultural crop, with plums, peaches, lotus root, and mushrooms also cultivated. Leisure spots include YOU Yu Land, which features athletic facilities and a 60-meter roller slide. Tourist attractions include Umebayashi Park, where you can see many varieties of plums, and Gomado Mountain, the summit of which is a 40-50 minute walk. A hydrangea garden can be found at the top of Gomado Mountain, offering panoramic views of Mount Yahiko and Mount Kakuda. Tagami Town, Minamikanbara District, also produces paulownia chests, including handcrafted chests and other small paulownia accessories.
