About Shimokitayama Village
Shimokitayama Village in Yoshino District, Nara Prefecture, is surrounded by mountains, with about half of the village designated as a natural park. It is a rare area in Japan with heavy rainfall. Houses line the rivers. Blessed with a lush natural environment, this region's specialty is Shimokita Harumana. It is grown without the use of any pesticides, and is said to be only possible in Shimokitayama Village, Yoshino District, due to its temperature and rainfall.
