Houses line the rivers. Blessed with a lush natural environment, this region's specialty is Shimokita Harumana. It is grown without the use of any pesticides, and is said to be only possible in Shimokitayama Village, Yoshino District, due to its temperature and rainfall. If it were made anywhere else, the taste would be completely different. Harumana pickles are made using this specialty product. It has a simple seasoning, but can be stored for a long time, making it a preserved food.
