About Yamazoe Village
Yamazoe Village in Yamabe District has relatively cool summers, but tends to be bitterly cold in winter. Mount Kanno, located within the village, is a scenic spot in Nara Prefecture. The Nabari River also flows through the village. The village's name, Yamazoe Village, was created by taking the character "yama" (mountain) from Yamabe District and the character "zoe" (so) from Soegami District. The village borders Nara City and Uda City in Nara Prefecture, and Nabari City and Iga City in Mie Prefecture. Tourist attractions in the village include Mount Kanno, as mentioned at the beginning, Mount Kanno Natural Park, and Nunome Dam. Events are held throughout the year, including the Okawa Cherry Blossom Festival in spring.
