Uda City borders six municipalities in Nara Prefecture, including Nara City, Sakurai City, and Soni Village in Uda County, as well as Nabari City in Mie Prefecture. Uda City's main industries are agriculture and forestry. The city is known nationwide for its production of Yoshino Kudzu and Uda Beef. The fur and leather industry is also active in the Utano area of the city. The city is home to many famous sites, including the five-story pagoda at Muroji Temple and the shrine building at Uta Mizubun Shrine, both designated national treasures. The city also boasts precious natural beauty, particularly the wild Kazaguruma (Chinese quince) that grows there. The Kazaguruma habitat in the city has been designated a national natural monument. City events include the Uda City Marathon.
