Kashiba City is located in the central-western part of Nara Prefecture, and as it borders Osaka Prefecture, it has developed as a commuter town for the city. It also serves as a key transportation hub, with the Nishi-Meihan Expressway, Kintetsu Osaka Line, and National Route 165 passing through it. New towns have been formed around Nijo Station, and residential development is thriving. The central part of the city, home to the city hall and other institutions, has long flourished as the city's core. The southern part is rural, while the eastern part, serving as the city's gateway, is experiencing rapid development. The city is home to historical heritage sites such as Hiranozuka Anayama Kofun and Kitsuneijoyama Kofun, and these, along with natural monuments such as Tonzurumine, are tourist attractions.
