Nagayo Town, Nishisonogi District, Nagasaki Prefecture, borders Omura Bay and is bordered by Togitsu Town to the west, Nagasaki City to the south, and Isahaya City to the east. Located slightly south of the center of the prefecture, the town is blessed with abundant nature. It was elevated from a village to a town in 1969. As the Nagasaki metropolitan area expanded, urbanization progressed in the lower reaches of the Nagayo River, and residential areas such as Nagayo New Town were developed. Nagayo Town developed as a commuter town for Nagasaki City, but areas such as Motokawago and Saitogo still retain a relatively large amount of forests and farmland. The area boasts hot springs, and tourist attractions include Nakao Castle Park, where you can enjoy the monorail and spiral slide, and Wasaburo Ikoi Hiroba, a beautiful cherry blossom viewing spot in spring.
