It is a place rich in nature, with mountains, rivers, and lakes. Tourist attractions include a ski resort, and in winter, tourists from both within and outside the prefecture flock here to enjoy winter sports. Other attractions include the Shinshu Hiraya Roadside Station, which offers Himawari no Yu (Sunflower Bath), restaurants, and a produce store. You can also purchase fresh, locally grown vegetables and fruit. This area is also home to the stone on which Lord Katsuyori sat, a character in history.
