Sakuho Town, Minamisaku District, Nagano Prefecture, borders Saku City, one other city, one town, and one village, as well as two villages in Gunma Prefecture. Located in the central eastern part of the prefecture, it is a region rich in nature, with rivers such as Mt. Mogi and the Chikuma River, as well as Mount Futago and Shirakome Pond. The town was formed in 2005 when Saku Town and Yachiho Village merged, and its name is derived from their respective names. Agriculture in this region is centered on flowers such as chrysanthemums, carnations, and roses, and fruits such as apples and prunes, with larch forestry also being practiced. Tourist attractions include the Okumura Togyu Memorial Museum, where you can enjoy the changing scenery throughout the seasons in the gardens visible from the museum, and a ski resort that attracts many tourists in winter for its winter sports.
