Minamiaiki Village, Minamisaku District, Nagano Prefecture, located on the border with Gunma Prefecture, draws its water from the Chikuma River. Most of the area is covered by forests, and the area is made up of 10 settlements. With temperatures hovering around 9°C throughout the year, the area is cool in the summer and chilly in the winter. However, the lack of snow makes the area a comfortable place to live. It is known to have been a settlement since the Jomon period, making it a region with a long history. Red pines, wild cherry trees, and Japanese bush warblers are symbols of the area, and there are many waterfalls, including Mika Falls, Tateiwa Falls, and Fudo Falls. Takiminoyu is located in an oasis, surrounded by nature.
