Karuizawa Town, Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture, is located in the eastern part of the prefecture, slightly north of the center, and borders Saku City, Miyota Town, and two cities, two towns, and one village in Gunma Prefecture. This area is known as a summer resort and vacation spot due to its cold winters and relatively cool summers. Recently, the construction of shopping spots has increased the number of tourists. Tourist attractions include the Karuizawa Picture Book Museum, where you can learn about the culture of picture books, and the Forest of Muse, home to the Erz Toy Museum, which displays wooden toys from the German region. Local events include the Karuizawa August Festival in the summer and the Karuizawa Autumn Leaves Festival in the fall.
