Minowa Town, Kamiina District, Nagano Prefecture, is located slightly south of the prefecture's center, bordering Suwa City, Ina City, and one other town and village. It was created through a merger in 1955. The town's designated tree is the zelkova, its flower the Iwayama azalea, and its bird the grey wagtail. The town is blessed with abundant nature, including mountains like Mt. Kuwazawa and rivers like the Tenryu River. Agriculture is thriving, with rice paddies, fields, and orchards. Tourist attractions include Fukuyo Castle, where Fujisawa Yoritomo lived during the Sengoku period, parks, campgrounds, and Minowa Dam, where visitors can enjoy nature and play. Known as Momiji Lake, this area offers beautiful autumn foliage. A unique dish of this region is ramen, a dish made with lamb.
