Ina City is located in southern Nagano Prefecture, bordered by the Akaishi Mountains to the east, the Kiso Mountains to the west, and the Tenryu River flowing through the center. In 2006, one town and one village merged to form the new Ina City. Manufacturing is the city's primary industry, with industrial parks serving as bases for manufacturing industries such as electrical, precision, and machinery, as well as the food industry. Agriculture, utilizing the waters of the Mitake River system, includes rice, vegetables, fruit, and flower cultivation. The city also boasts a thriving traditional culture, cherished by its residents. Local specialties include the region's delicacies, ramen noodles and horse sashimi. Major tourist attractions include Takato Castle Ruins Park, Kasuga Castle Ruins, and Southern Alps National Park.
