Yamagata Village, Higashichikuma District, is located in the Matsumoto Basin and its catchphrase is "A village where life and nature resonate." Although the village receives little rainfall throughout the year, the temperature differences are so extreme that it takes time for the body to adapt. The northeastern part of the village is home to a large shopping mall and other commercial facilities. The west side is home to many residential areas, which have developed and grown as a commuter town for urban areas such as Matsumoto City. A major tourist spot is the Japan Alps Salad Highway. This is one of the tourist roads, and the scenery varies from area to area in Nagano Prefecture, making it a beloved road where you can enjoy the changing scenery.
