Located in the center of Nagano Prefecture, Nagano Town in Chiisagata County is surrounded by the Tateshina mountain range. Bordering Matsumoto City and Ueda City, the town experiences extremely harsh winters due to its high altitude. However, due to the small amount of snowfall, there is no need to worry about snow removal. In summer, temperatures can reach over 30 degrees, and natural disasters occur frequently during the snowmelt season. Although the climate fluctuates dramatically, the area is blessed with a natural environment, allowing people to live a laid-back life. The Otaya Festival is held in this area every year. This two-day festival is one of the events that liven up the entire prefecture, attracting many visitors from neighboring areas.
