Misato Town, Toda District, was formed by the merger of the towns of Kogota and Nango in Miyagi Prefecture. Located within commuting distance of Sendai City, the prefectural capital of Miyagi Prefecture, residential development is progressing and the population is growing. Due to the influence of the Pacific Ocean, there is little rainfall in the winter, making it a very livable environment. Tourist attractions in Misato Town, Toda District, include Yamajinja Shrine and Hodozuka Kofun. Yamajinja Shrine is said to be the home of the god of safety and is famous in the Tohoku region. Many people visit during Shichi-Go-San and New Year's visits. At Hodozuka Kofun, you can see a burial mound from the middle of the Kofun period, play on athletic facilities nearby, and enjoy cherry blossom viewing in April.
