Izumi Ward in Sendai City borders Aoba Ward and Miyagino Ward. In the center of Izumi Ward are Izumi Ward Office and Izumi Chuo Subway Station. Surrounding areas include a multipurpose field, a stadium, a library, commercial facilities, and high-rise buildings. Residential areas spread across the hills, with numerous lush parks. Izumigatake offers plenty of natural beauty, perfect for mountain climbing and hiking. In winter, skiers flock to the area. In the western area, you'll find Komyo Falls, one of Japan's 100 most beautiful green spots. Just before this is Washinokura Shrine, with its 200 stone steps. A towering fir tree stands at a three-way intersection nearby, and a large stone known as Kamenokoishi stands on a wooden board.
