Located in the center of Mie Prefecture, Taki Town in Taki District is an inland town surrounded by mountains and does not face the sea. There are many ponds throughout the town, and Gokatsura Pond, known as the largest pond in Mie Prefecture, is a popular spot visited by many people. Near Gokatsura Pond is an agricultural park called Gokatsura Pond Furusato Village, where students from the Food and Cooking Department of Aika High School cook their meals. The restaurant, "Mago no Mise," has become a hot topic, having been the model for a TV drama. Taki Town's specialty is Ise potato. There are many restaurants in the town that serve dishes made with Ise potato. Recently, Ise udon noodles made with Ise potato have also become popular.
