Kawagoe Town, Mie County, is located in the northern part of Mie Prefecture, bordering Kuwana City and Yokkaichi City. Thanks to the location of Chubu Electric Power's Kawagoe Thermal Power Plant, the town's financial situation is stable thanks to the national asset tax. In addition to thermal power generation, which is its main industry, the town also operates agriculture, fishing, and manufacturing. Local specialties include processed seafood products such as kamaboko and chikuwa, as well as starch syrup. The Kawagoe Electric Power Museum Terra 46 is a popular tourist spot in the town. It offers a theme park-like experience where visitors can learn about electricity, making it a popular spot, especially for children. The town's annual Ishitori Festival, held every July, is a popular festival that draws many visitors. The town is also famous for its Jizo Bon ritual, a Shinto ritual.
