Matsusaka City in Mie Prefecture is famous for producing Matsusaka beef. Renowned nationwide as a premium cut of meat, Matsusaka beef is a well-known specialty of Matsusaka City. The Matsusaka Beef Festival is held every November. However, there are many other local specialties, such as wild boar meat, Matsusaka red cabbage, Ureshino radish, and molokheiya. In addition to local specialties, the city also has many historical tourist attractions, including the Matsusaka Castle Ruins, a nationally designated historic site; the castle guard's residence, which was once a samurai group residence; and the Matsusaka History and Folklore Museum, where you can see documents related to Matsusaka merchants.
