Located in the central-eastern part of Mie Prefecture, Ise City enjoys a relatively warm climate throughout the year. It has long developed as a temple town for Ise Grand Shrine. Ise City is home to numerous tourist attractions, centered around Ise Grand Shrine, and attracts many visitors. In addition to the well-known Ise Grand Shrine, there are various other tourist spots, such as the Meoto Iwa Rocks at Futamiura, Asakumayama Kongoshoji Temple, Futami Sea Paradise, and Okage Yokocho. Local specialties include spiny lobster and oysters. Seafood grown in Ise Bay is famous nationwide for its thick flesh and rich flavor. There are also many local dishes, with Ise udon noodles and Ise pickled radish being popular. Sameno-tare, an offering to Ise Grand Shrine, is also famous.
