About Inabe City
Inabe City is located in the northernmost part of Mie Prefecture. It was formed through the merger of the former towns of Hokusei, Inabe, Taian, and Fujiwara. Because the pronunciation of "Inabe" is difficult, the city is written in hiragana. While Inabe City is located near the city and has a growing industrial base, it also retains a rich natural environment. Agriculture is also thriving, taking advantage of the plains. Specialties include tea and shiitake mushrooms. Plum cultivation is also thriving, with plum juice and other products being sold. Nakazato Dam is a popular tourist spot, famous for its beautiful stargazing. Other popular spots include Mount Fujiwara, one of Japan's 300 famous mountains, and Ugakei Gorge, a popular waterfall tour destination.
