Muko City is located in the southwest of Kyoto Prefecture, and is home to a long, narrow hill about 80 meters high that rises through the town. Many bamboo shoots grow naturally in the bamboo forest on this hill, and the city is known nationwide as a famous bamboo shoot producing area. There are many residential areas in the city center, and transportation is well developed, so you won't feel inconvenienced in daily life. While Kyoto has many basins, and so summers are often perceived as hot, Muko City is not in a basin, so it is said to be more comfortable. One of the city's main events is the Cherry Blossom Festival. Held every April, you can enjoy the sounds of koto and taiko drums amidst the blossoming cherry blossoms, as well as a variety of other events.
