About Kizugawa City
Located at the southernmost tip of Kyoto Prefecture, Kizugawa City is a new city formed in 2007 by the merger of three towns, including Kizu Town. Surrounded by history and abundant nature, it was ranked number one in a Kyoto Prefecture ranking of the most livable towns. Recently, with the construction of the Kansai Culture and Arts Research City underway, the city has seen a rapid increase in population as a bed town for Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka.
