About Misato Town
Misato Town, Shimomashiki District, was established in 2004 through the merger of Chuo Town and Toyo Town, and is located in the center of Kumamoto Prefecture. It's about 40 minutes from Kumamoto City, the economic center of the prefecture. The town is mostly mountainous and hilly, with most of the area covered in forest. While there aren't many residential areas, the town primarily focuses on agriculture, cultivating and producing a variety of crops. With a high rate of dams, the area is an essential water source for the entire Kumamoto Prefecture. One of the town's main specialties is dried rice. This rice is grown using natural water that is completely free of domestic water and is made using traditional methods. A delivery service is also available, attracting many repeat customers.
