Nishi Ward, Kumamoto City, is one of the administrative districts that make up Kumamoto City and is located in the western part of the city. It is blessed with abundant nature, including Mount Kinpu, where fruit cultivation such as Kawachi mandarin oranges thrives, and the Ariake Sea, where seaweed, clams, and other fish are cultivated. Furthermore, it is home to Kumamoto Station, the city's land gateway, and Kumamoto Port, the city's sea gateway, making it an important ward within the city. Located in the center of Kyushu, Kumamoto Station serves as a key transportation hub. A new facility, the Kumamoto Moritoshin Plaza, has also opened within the redevelopment district of Kumamoto Moritoshin. All of Kumamoto Port's port facilities are located on an artificial island, making it a popular spot for beautiful sunsets. It is also designated as a prefecturally important port.
