Kikuyo Town in Kikuchi County, Kumamoto Prefecture, is blessed with a natural environment from which it can see Mount Aso on multiple occasions. Established as a town in 1969, the town continues to build a rich history. From around 1971, rapid residential development led to urbanization and successful economic growth. This has led to the active construction of large shopping centers and other facilities, attracting many people, not only from the local area but also from outside the prefecture.
