Tsunagi Town in Ashikita District, located in the southern part of Kumamoto Prefecture, is blessed with a natural environment, with most of the area surrounded by mountains. Taking advantage of the year-round warm climate, the town primarily cultivates summer mandarins and dekopon, and has seen remarkable economic growth. Along the coast, sea bream and pufferfish are farmed. With the Kyushu Shinkansen running through the town and plans to build a transit point for the Minami Kyushu Westbound Expressway, the town will become even more convenient in the future. The Tsunagi Morning Market, held monthly, sells locally grown produce. Different ingredients are sold depending on the season, so you can always buy seasonal produce.
