Tsuno Town, Takaoka District, is located in the central-western part of Kochi Prefecture. It borders Susaki City, Sagawa Town, and Ochi Town. It is also the source of the Shimanto River. Other rivers that flow through the town include the Kitagawa River and Shinjo River. Tourist attractions include the Shikoku Karst at an elevation of 1,400 meters, the Hayama Wind Farm, and Hayama Storehouse. The Hayama Wind Farm boasts 20 giant windmills that have been in operation since 2006, and visitors can enjoy nature on walking trails and in the forest. Other shrines include Kawachi Gosha Shrine, Mishima Shrine, and Suwa Shrine. The town's festivals include the Tsunoyama Ancient Kagura Dance, designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan, and the Hanatori Dance, designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Kochi Prefecture. The town's tree is the Japanese cypress, and its flower is the Akebono azalea.
