Motoyama Town, Nagaoka District, is located in the northern center of Kochi Prefecture, bordering Nankoku City and Kami City. The town also boasts a thriving log-grown shiitake mushroom cultivation, resulting in thick, fleshy mushrooms. Located in the city center, Kizenzan Park offers springtime flowers like cherry blossoms and azaleas. The rhododendrons within the park are particularly recommended, attracting thousands of visitors during their blooming season. Akataki Falls, located upstream of the Kuwano River, was named for the reddish moss covering the rocks, making it a popular spot for viewing fresh greenery and autumn foliage.
