Kuroshio Town, Hata District, Kochi Prefecture, is a town in the southwestern region of Kochi Prefecture. Characterized by a warm tropical climate, the town has long been home to greenhouse horticulture and water-based agriculture, taking advantage of the climate. The Saga region, facing the sea, is also home to a thriving Tosa bonito pole-and-line fishing industry. Kuroshio Town's tourist attraction is the Beach Museum, a beautiful sandy beach stretching approximately 4 km in length. Visitors to the Beach Museum will find even the driftwood that washes ashore appearing as artworks. Local specialties include mandarin oranges grown in the warm climate and sea breeze, and brown sugar, carefully grown with minimal pesticides.
