Umaji Village in Aki District is known as one of the rainiest areas in Japan. Yuzu cultivation is also thriving, with processed products such as yuzu vinegar and jam shipped nationwide. Umaji Village in Aki District still retains its rich natural environment, offering tranquil scenery. Even the endangered Japanese serow lives here. The Yasuda River that flows through the village is a popular place for villagers to relax, and in the summer it is a popular fishing spot for wild sweetfish and a playground for children.
