Yokosuka City, whose administrative and economic center is located in the Tokyo Bay area, is located on the Miura Peninsula in the southeastern part of Kanagawa Prefecture. It is also an international port city facing Tokyo Bay and Sagami Bay and is designated as a core city. While there are many large factories and residential areas, agriculture is also thriving in the Sagami Bay area. Tourist attractions include parks such as Verny Park and Nagai Seaside Park Soleil Hill, as well as cultural facilities such as the Yokosuka Museum of Art and the Yokosuka City Museum of Nature and Humanity. Events held here include the Takeyama Hatsufudo Festival and the Yokosuka Seaside Marathon. It is also home to the Yokohama DeNA BayStars farm team and one of the two hometowns of the Yokohama F. Marinos.
