Naka Ward, Yokohama City, is the prefectural capital and is therefore home to many government agencies. It is also the central city of Yokohama, and is home to many corporate headquarters and financial institutions. In recent years, the opening of the Minatomirai Line has improved access, leading to the construction of apartment buildings and a growing population. Naka Ward, Yokohama City, is also home to many foreign residents, making it an international area, with Chinese nationals accounting for approximately half of the foreign residents. The city also offers historical learning opportunities at the Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of History and the Nippon Yusen Historical Museum.
