Kawasaki City's Saiwai Ward has a population of approximately 150,000 and borders Tokyo's Ota Ward. Located roughly halfway between Tokyo and Yokohama, the ward has been a magnet for large factories, attracting attention. In recent years, high-tech industries have also been expanding into the area. Some of these factories have since been relocated. High-rise apartment buildings are sometimes built on the site of these relocations, and further development in this area is anticipated. Yumemigasaki Zoo is a famous tourist attraction in the area. The area is also home to the Musa Kawasaki Symphony Hall, which is the franchise hall for the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
