About Aso Ward, Kawasaki City
Kawasaki City is made up of seven wards, one of which is Asao Ward. It was established in 1982. The central part of the ward was developed, and public facilities such as the ward office and commercial facilities such as department stores were added around Shin-Yurigaoka Station. Development as a bedroom community continues to this day. Asao Ward can be considered a commercial center, but agriculture is also practiced in some areas. Areas designated as agricultural promotion areas include the Okayama, Kurokawa, and Hayano districts. Tourist attractions include Ozenji Temple, home to Japan's oldest Zen temple maruko tree; Korinji Temple, with its five-story pagoda; and Jokeiji Temple, home to over 1,000 hydrangeas. Leisure spots include Yonetti Ozenji Temple, equipped with a heated swimming pool and a training room.
