About Kaisei Town

Kaisei Town in Ashigarakami District, Kanagawa Prefecture's smallest town in terms of area, takes its name from Kaisei School, which opened in the former village of Nobesawa. Kaisei Station on the Odakyu Odawara Line opened in 1985, but there was no train station before that. Buses depart from Shin-Matsuda Station and Daiyuzan Station. In 2003, the Fujikyu Shonan Bus Hakone Tozan Bus began service to the town. Tourist attractions include Sontsuji Kannon Temple, Ashigarigo Seto Yashiki, Sako Fureaikan, and Kaisei Sports Park. The Hydrangea Festival is held in June, the Kaisei Awa Dance in September, and the Kaisei Sports and Recreation Festival in October. Famous people from Kaisei Town in Ashigarakami District include model Kyoko Sugiyama.
