Ichikikushikino City is a city in Kagoshima Prefecture formed by the merger of Kushikino City and Ichiki Town in Hioki County. Its specialty products are tsukeage (fried fish cakes) and shochu. Tours of tsukeage factories and sake breweries are also popular with tourists. The city is also deeply connected to history and culture, with numerous historical sites still remaining and beloved by history buffs. At Satsuma Kinzangura, visitors can see a shochu brewery inside a tunnel that makes use of the characteristics of a gold mine. There are also plenty of facilities where you can learn about Satsuma culture and the roots of shochu. There are also hot springs in the north, and accommodations offer views of the sunset over the East China Sea. The adjacent bathing facility offers a variety of bathing experiences and is crowded with day-trippers even on weekdays.
