Tonosho Town, Shozu District, Kagawa Prefecture, is an island region adjacent to Shodoshima Town, Shozu District, located in the northeastern part of the prefecture. It is rich in nature, with mountains, rivers, and the sea. Tourist attractions in the town include the Peace Statue of a Female Teacher and Her Students, which served as the inspiration for the original novel and film "Twenty-Four Eyes," Angel Road, a narrow sandy road leading to Oyoshima Island, and Choshi Valley, home to Choshi Falls and an observation deck. Famous events in the area include the Seto Inland Sea Turtle Full Marathon and the Shodoshima Olive Triathlon, both held in the fall. The Dobuchi Strait, between Shodoshima and Maejima, is known as the narrowest strait in the world. The town's tree is the jasmine, and its flower is the azalea.
