About Tadotsu Town
Tadotsu Town in Nakatado District has long been a fishing town. It was also the first place in the Shikoku region where a railway line was opened, and the town has developed as a railway and port. The town hosts three major festivals: the Tadotsu National Kite Flying Competition, the Tadotsu Cherry Blossom Festival, and the Tadotsu Summer Festival, attracting many spectators. The Toretate Market also sells seafood caught in the Seto Inland Sea. Prefectural Toryo Park is known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. Other tourist attractions include Yawata no Mori Firefly Village, and Sanagishima and Takamijima, both accessible by ferry. Shirakata grapes are a local specialty. The town is one of the leading grape-producing areas in western Japan, and there are facilities where you can pick grapes.
