Kanonji City is located in the southwestern part of Kagawa Prefecture, facing the Seto Inland Sea. The Saida River and the Hasada River flow through the city, and the countryside stretches from east to west. Lettuce, broccoli, mandarin oranges, and other crops are cultivated thrivingly. The city also boasts numerous tourist attractions. Ariake Beach, selected as one of Japan's 100 best beaches and one of Japan's 88 best bathing spots, is home to rare marine plants. The Zenigata sand painting on the beach is also a popular tourist attraction. Other notable sites include Ichinomiya Park's Dream Tower, lined with white pine trees, Kotozen Park, Tsunozuka Tomb, Hahagamiyama Tomb Group, and Hiratsuka Tomb. The city's specialty products include udon noodles, kamaboko (fish cakes), and shrimp crackers.
