About Nomi City
Nomi City was formed on February 1, 2005, through the merger of the former towns of Neagari, Terai, and Tatsunokuchi. Each town has its own unique characteristics. Manufacturing is Nomi's primary industry, with many offices and factories located within the city. It is also famous for its traditional craft, Kutani ware painting. Many businesses specializing in this art are located in the southern part of the city. Tourist attractions include the Hideki Matsui Baseball Museum and Ishikawa Zoo. Tatsunokuchi Onsen, located in the former town of Tatsunokuchi, is also famous. There is even a novel that features Tatsunokuchi Onsen. City events include the All-Japan Nomi Race Walking Championships and the Neagari Tanabata Festival.
