Nakanoto Town, Kashima District, Ishikawa Prefecture, is located almost in the center of the Noto Peninsula. It is a lush green town surrounded by hills with Mt. Isurugi to the east and Mt. Bijo to the west. Despite this, it is located approximately 50km from the prefectural capital, Kanazawa City, and the capital of neighboring Toyama Prefecture, Toyama City, and has a well-developed highway transportation system, making it a conveniently located town. A large shopping center has opened along National Route 159, attracting many visitors from the local area as well as neighboring cities and towns, and from neighboring Toyama Prefecture, making it the largest commercial zone in the Noto region. Nakanoto Town is focusing on measures to combat the declining birthrate, aiming to create a town that is easy to raise children in while improving childcare services.
