Nakanoto Town, Kashima District, Ishikawa Prefecture, is located almost in the center of the Noto Peninsula. It is a lush green town surrounded by hills with Mt. Isurugi to the east and Mt. Bijo to the west. Despite this, it is also well-located, located approximately 50km from the prefectural capital, Kanazawa City, and the neighboring Toyama Prefecture capital, Toyama City, with a well-developed expressway system. With the opening of a large shopping center along National Route 159, the town is known as the largest commercial zone in the Noto region, attracting many visitors from the local area as well as neighboring cities and towns and from neighboring Toyama Prefecture. Nakanoto Town is focusing on measures to combat the declining birthrate, aiming to create a town that is easy to raise children in while improving childcare services.
