Tsubata Town, Kahoku District, Ishikawa Prefecture, is one of two towns in the district. Located in the center of Ishikawa Prefecture, Tsubata Town has an estimated commuter rate to Kanazawa City of approximately 40%, and many residents live in the town as a commuter town to Kanazawa City. Numerous valuable historical sites and cultural assets are scattered throughout the town, including Kurikara Pass, the site of the famous "Fire Ox Strategy" battle between the Genpei War and the Taira Clan. Rice cultivation is also thriving in Tsubata Town. Tsubata bento lunches, made with seasonal ingredients grown in the town, such as wild bamboo shoots and Kurikara soba noodles, are popular local specialties among people from both within and outside the prefecture. Various festivals and events are held here from spring to autumn, attracting many tourists.
