Its neighboring municipalities are Wajima City, Suzu City, and Anamizu Town in Hōsu District. Noto Town in Hōsu District is home to part of Noto Airport, improving access to the greater Tokyo area. The town boasts many specialty products, including blueberries, squid, and deep-sea water. Famous sites include Matsunami Castle Ruins Park and Koiji Beach. Town festivals include the Oku-Noto Ae no Koto and Banbata Matsuri. The town also boasts many shrines, including Suwa Shrine, Matsunami Shrine, and Mifune Shrine. The town's symbol is the designated fish, the yellowtail.
