Shika Town, Hakui County, Ishikawa Prefecture, is one of two towns in Hakui County. Located in the center of the Noto Peninsula, facing the Sea of Japan to the west and the rolling hills of the Mayujo Mountain Range to the east, the town is surrounded by beautiful ocean and vast mountains, and is rich in nature. Taking advantage of this natural environment, the gently sloping hills in the center of town have golf courses and villas, and the town has developed into a resort area. Agriculture, forestry, and fishing have been thriving in the town since ancient times, and local specialties include koshihikari rice, red soil watermelon, snow crab, and yellowtail, offering a wide variety of mountain and sea delicacies. The town also sells agricultural, forestry, and fishery products directly, and offers hands-on farming of potatoes, apples, and other produce at its experimental farm, making it a popular tourist destination.
